Day 9
Well, actual honest construction began today. Foundation digging began.

It was so hot today the crew called it early-ish. Finishing up tomorrow morning before the temp spikes again.
I was cleaning out a few boxes from the 2nd floor front room, soon to be known as the Main House Guest Room and came across 2 drawings from back in the day. They were done by Adam Craft, a friend I worked with back at the bookstore. After leaving the bookstore I lost touch with him (and most of the other people who worked there) but searched the internets for any trace of the nut. While Heather and I were living in England I came across a book entitled “Echoes of Nod“, and damn if there wasn’t a picture of my friend on the back cover.
When things were slow at the bookstore, which near the end was ALL THE TIME, Adam would doodle cartoons & clips while telling some strange story. He always said he wanted to write kid’s books but the strange bit is most of his storytelling then and Echoes of Nod now were and are of the horror genre. I don’t remember what the story was for these two but for whatever reason, I kept the drawings.
Without Further Delay, I present “Blood Clot” by Adam M. Craft (c. 1999)

If I had to guess most of you who read my blog weren’t anywhere, but I imagine most have a relative or two who can answer that question.
These are from a weekend trip Heather & I took in 2006 while we were living in England.
Normandy is absolutely beautiful. No matter what time of year. I can’t even begin to imagine what it really looked like 64 years ago.

Waiting on permits…
How to build a proper Charleston Carriage House in 120 (or so) Days
Day One-ish
Step One: Remove decaying Grand Hackberry tree
Check. (It was actually taken down last week)
Step Two: Remove all previous construction debris
From 5 minutes ago:
She rolls over and says, “Oh. Um…”
Me: Yes?
Heather: The crab… bag…
Me: Yes?
Heather: When we got it…did you take any?
Me: Yeah. They were good. Did you get any?
Heather: Um. I… don’t… know. Then proceeds to roll back over.
How come I can’t have dreams about crabboils?? My dream is usually the dream where you see yourself standing on a pyramid in sort of sun god robes with 1000 naked women throwing tiny pickles at you. Why am I the only one who ever has that dream?
