Sunday I drove up to Charlotte, NC to catch the Rush concert with my best friend from high school, his brother, and another friend from HS. It was positively the best concert I have ever been seen. Except for the heat & humidity. I must have sweated out a gallon of water. Every time I see Neil Peart play his drum solo, which seems to get longer than the last, I stand in absolute amazement. The man is a god.
The show started around 7:45pm and ended about 11pm with a 15 minute “Pause for the Old Guys” (Lee & Lifeson are 54 and Peart is 55) in the middle of the show. Not a bad way to spend three hours on a Sunday night.
I fully intended to write down the set list as the concert went along, but my paper was completely drenched so I pinched the list from THE SPAGHETTI INCIDENT?. Thanks! I’m almost positive that the list is the same as last night’s. All the song links will take you to the iTunes Music Store if you wish to hear a clip. I pinched the intro/outro vids from YouTube. The last video has not only the outro video clip, but also the YYZ performance.
There was a woman from Hooters (who was there for a golf tournament) in the next row forward taking pictures. Hopefully she’ll send them along by email and I’ll post ‘em up because I didn’t take a camera. :boo:
